Selecting a Facilitator
A facilitator enables participants to work more effectively, collaborate and achieve shared decision-making. A facilitator can be a learning or conversation guide to help the group understand the challenge, explore options and identify solutions in a systemic way.
WCPR facilitators need not be professional facilitators. With practice, everyone can be a good facilitator.
A good facilitator will develop their own style rather than try to imitate someone else’s approach. It’s important to remember that everyone is a little scared or nervous about facilitating discussion. The goal should not be perfection—asking for feedback is key to allow for reflection and improvement over time.
